Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Medical Student Program
Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center is the site of more than 200 annual medical student rotations from several Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, and other medical schools including Drexel University College of Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. The rotations are arranged with each student's institution. A limited number of rotation opportunities are available for medical students from other states but the student's medical school must be accredited by the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) or the American Osteopathic Association. Pennsylvania law prohibits clinical clerkships by students from other medical schools.
Medical students develop skills through structured education and supervised clinical experiences. In this medical-student friendly environment, faculty and resident supervisors mentor and encourage students to maximize their rotation experiences. With this in mind, students are required to participate in ground rounds, morning reports, in-house educational lectures and meetings.
Conemaugh does not offer observerships, externships, or research assistant positions in the medical student program.
