Conemaugh Emergency Medicine Residency Interview Process

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) from the Association of American Medical Colleges. We take US citizens or green card applicants and sponsor J-1 VISA applcants.

For the 2024  ERAS cycle, our program will be collecting and reviewing data from applicant’s ERAS applications. Substantive changes have occurred to the application which include the incorporation of the major components of the recent supplemental application.

Past Experience 

  • List up to 10 past experience
  • designate up to 3 of these entries as most meaningful 
  • Impactful Experience Essay (optional) how you overcame a challenge or obstalce which may have impacted your path to a career in medicine. This is designed to offer more perspective on you as a student and as a person.

Geographic preferences (by division and by urban or rural settings)  Communicate your preference for up to three geographic regions or indicate no preference

The Emergency Medicine program(s) will be participating in program signals.  Applicants will be given a maximum of 7 signals to use. Applicants can signal any program in which they are genuinely interested in training, regardless of whether they have performed a rotation there or not.  

Once the candidate's application and credentials have been reviewed and/or approved, the Program Coordinator will invite the candidate for an interview with the Program Director and faculty members. All interviews for 2023 will be conducted through ZOOM.  Candidates will also join current residents for a ZOOM meet/greet the night before. Interviews are by invitation only and required for acceptance to the program.

  • COMLEX scores Part I and II or USMLE Part 1 & 2 
  • Two (2) Standardized Letters of Evaluation (SLOE)
