Residency is challenging, but our residents have fun while they are at it.
Message from the Program Director
Welcome to Conemaugh! We are excited that you stopped by to check out our program. As a well-established Family Medicine program with more than 60 years’ experience teaching family medicine, we are proud to serve our region providing high-quality care to our patients and their families. We have the luxury of a small town feel with a medically-advanced tertiary care medical center to train. We provide a busy comprehensive Family Medicine program with special training in HIV, substance use disorders, Hepatitis C, and gender-affirming care. We also offer Osteopathic Recognition with didactic and hands-on experience with Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and Osteopathic Principles and Practices. Graduates from our program are well-rounded family physicians who can practice in a variety of settings including inpatient hospitalist care, outpatient, traditional family medicine, urgent care, academia/faculty positions and more. Our residents are also competitive applicants for many different fellowships. We provide hands-on, approachable teaching with daily didactics where residents learn medical concepts and skills which can be implemented immediately. Our faculty have a love of teaching, and our residents experience a sense of family when they are here. We have a wonderful, warm, welcoming community with a wealth of activities including exploring the outdoors, music festivals/concerts, sporting events, and more. We offer an affordable cost of living, and a great place to raise a family. We hope you spend some time on our website and our Facebook pages to get to know us better. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please reach out to us. We look forward to showing you why Conemaugh should be your Family Medicine Residency home.
